Victoria Marriage Registry Weddings operates as an independent, private marriage registry service delivered exclusively by Commonwealth-authorised Marriage Celebrants, each registered under the Marriage Act 1961 (Cth).
Every celebrant who conducts either location ceremonies or registry ceremonies through Marriage Victoria has been individually:
trained,
assessed,
and formally appointed
by the Attorney-General’s Department (Marriage Law and Celebrants Section, Canberra ACT).

Our team of authorised celebrants completes all required legal documentation and submits each marriage directly to Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) through the official celebrant registration system mandated by the Commonwealth Government.
Marriage Victoria is not part of BDM and does not represent any government agency.
We operate as a fully independent provider of lawful marriage services, working within the same federal legislation and requirements that govern all authorised celebrants and Government Marriage Registries across Australia.
