Your Ceremony

The Ceremony Room is booked in half-hour intervals with an allocation of up to half an hour for the wedding ceremony. Depending on your specific requests and wishes, your ceremony may be conducted with only the minimum mandatory requirements – in which case it will be a fairly quick wedding process prior to the signing of official documentation by you, your celebrant and your two witnesses, or, your ceremony may be much more elaborate and personalised, and may fill the entire half hour booking, or you may even choose to book an ‘extended ceremony’ if you have many guests attending your wedding ceremony. The choice is entirely yours.

During the conducting of the ceremony, providing that all specific legal requirements are adhered to, couples may wish to compose, and bring along, their own vows and custom tailor choices of poems and readings to suit their own personal wishes – for their personal ceremony.

The Melbourne Private Marriage Registry’s group of experienced celebrants are able to conduct a highly professional lovely wedding ceremony offering an appropriate and dignified ‘special day’ to remember. You are welcome to include your ‘friends and family’ contributions during your ceremony.

Marriage Ceremony prices start from $315, all-inclusive of the use of our small Ceremony Room (which can accommodate up to 30 people), Conducting of the Ceremony by the Celebrant and their preparation of all legal paperwork and Marriage Certificates. There are no additional charges or fees for the small Ceremony Room – this is fully included in the celebrant fee. Please note there are higher charges for after-business-hours ceremonies, plus higher charges for the celebrants time if you wish to use a period longer than half an hour for your ceremony room. Any extensions of time for the ceremony must be pre-booked and a surcharge will apply.

  We were fortunate enough to have our wedding here very recently. Merryn and the team are absolute professionals, friendly and very accommodating.
The room itself is lovely and welcoming too.
We wanted a small, intimate, fuss-free and stress-free wedding, and that is exactly what we got.

  Such a great experience. We assumed that we would be walking into a room with a desk and signing some papers. It was absolutely beyond our expectations. The ceremony and set up was so beautiful. We wanted something budget friendly & intimate only with our immediate family. We got that and soo much more.

Chess was wonderful on the day. She guided us through every step. I was so nervous but the atmosphere when we walked in immediately made us both calm and ready to take the next step in our lives.   These wonderful people helped us organise our Melb wedding, from our interstate home. And when, at the last moment, we asked if they could come to us on location in Melb, they readily and happily accommodated us. Chess, our Celebrant, was the perfect person for a perfect day. She seemed to have an innate ability to tap into our essence and wove the ceremony accordingly. She exudes love, warmth and sincerity and brings ease and her own beautiful nature to a very special day. Everyone at the wedding was in agreeance and all fell in love with her. She was perfect.
